A Kolkata court has ordered Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami to pay a monthly alimony of Rs 1,30,000 to his ex-wife, Hasin Jahan, in a domestic violence case. The ruling includes a personal alimony of Rs 50,000 and a child allowance of Rs 80,000. Despite the ruling in her favor, Jahan has stated that she will appeal the case in the Supreme Court, claiming that the alimony amount is not sufficient.
Jahan had accused Shami of domestic violence, lodging a complaint against him and his elder brother Hasib Ahmad on March 8, 2018. The complaint included allegations of threat, infidelity, and dowry demand.
