Leaders of the AP Women's Association slam Garikapati comments

17-11-2022 Thu 19:06

In Andhra Pradesh, women's rights organisations have called on Garikapati Narasimha Rao to publicly apologise and wanted the women commission to take action against him for his misogynistic remarks against women.

The campaign against Narasimha Rao has intensified since the Pragathisheela women's organisation in Visakhapatnam criticised Garikapati for making offensive remarks about women wearing "revealing" clothing and making provocative remarks.

He deserves punishment, one of the members of women organisation claimed.

Garikapati is known for his Hindu discourses (pravachanam) on mythological texts such as the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and the Vedas.

He is heard saying in one of the earlier videos that women's skimpy clothing invites harassment.
