Watch: CM YS Jagan launches eco-friendly buses in Tirupati
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), which oversees the Tirumala temple, has deployed electric buses from Tirupati to Tirumala in an effort to make Tirumala more environmentally friendly. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy signalled the start of the first batch of 10 electric buses on Tuesday night.
There were TTD officials present, including Chairman Y V Subba Reddy.
The state government has given the APSRTC permission to operate 100 electric buses under the gross cost contract (GCC) model in order to maintain a pollution-free environment in Tirumala.
On the other hand, the annual 'Srivari Brahmotsavam' began on Tuesday, beginning a two-year hiatus caused by the Covid-19 outbreak.
