World's highest Chenab railway bridge inaugurated in Jammu and Kashmir
The world's highest single-arch rail bridge, built to connect remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir, was officially opened on Saturday (August 13, 2022). Today marked the official opening of the highest railway bridge in the world, the Chenab bridge. Notably, Srinagar will be connected to the rest of India for the first time since independence.
The Chenab Bridge was a well-known structure with complex engineering that had to overcome numerous obstacles.
The construction of the highest railway bridge in the world is 35 metres higher than the Eiffel Tower, is currently underway.
