PM Modi hosts India's commonwealth games medallists
Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, welcomed nation's athletes who returned from Birmingham with flying colours. The athletes competed for 61 medals. Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister for Sports, and Nisith Pramanik, the Minister of State for Sports, were also present.
The 2022 Birmingham Games medal winners will meet with PM Modi at his official residence also, according to an earlier announcement. Later, the athletes will be honoured at a ceremony held at the Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi by the Ministry of Sports.
In Birmingham, the Indian competitors put up a spectacular performance, winning 61 medals, including 22 gold, 16 silver, and 23 bronze.
