Bank Loan case: Sujana Chowdary attends ED Court in Chennai
Sujana Chowdary received summons from the Enforcement Directorate for the trial in the special court for economic offences in Chennai months after completing his term in the Rajya Sabha. On Friday, the former Union minister made an appearance before the court in Chennai. The former Union Minister is accused of taking loans from three banks and not repaying them. The ED drew attention to the fact that the CBI had filed three cases as a result of complaints from three banks.
Three banks reportedly suffered a combined loss of Rs 363 crore, with the Central Bank of India losing Rs 133 crore, Andhra Bank losing Rs 71 crore, and Corporation Bank losing Rs 159 crore.
The Directorate of Enforcement, Chennai, started investigations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) based on these FIRs.
