Nitish Kumar resigns as Chief Minister of Bihar, breaks alliance with the BJP
In Bihar, the political drama that lasted for two days has come to a conclusion. Putting an end to speculation, JDU leader Nitish Kumar has taken action to sever ties with the BJP. Nitish has severed ties with the BJP for the second time in eight years.
Nitish Kumar met with MPs and MLAs in the morning to discuss the possibility of leaving the BJP. Later, it was agreed to cut off communication with the BJP. From there, Nitish Kumar travelled to Raj Bhavan and handed Governor Phagu Chauhan his resignation.
After Narendra Modi was selected as the coalition's nominee for prime minister in 2013, he had left the NDA for the first time.
