Adila Nazrin and Fathima Noora, a lesbian couple from Kerala, were granted permission to live together by the Kerala High Court on Tuesday, May 31. Parents were told not to get involved.
Going into the details, Nazrin (22) and Noora (23) met and fell in love during their school days in Saudi Arabia. They made the decision to live together. Their relatives, however, were opposed to the union. On the 19th of last month, the two met in Kozhikode and took refuge in a shelter home there for a few days. Knowing this, Adila's relatives called Fatima to their home. Fatima's relatives forcibly took her.
Adila Nazrin petitioned the court for habeas corpus when Fathima Noora was allegedly taken by her own relatives.
