AP CM Jagan addresses at WEF, Davos on health sector strengthening
On Monday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed a session on health and healthcare systems at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2022 in Davos. In response to a query about the poor health care system during the pandemic and the problem they faced, CM Jagan stated that while budgets are limited, there is a need to deal with it. In response to a concern about the state's shortage of doctors and the funding required to address the matter, CM Jagan stated that new medical colleges, including 11 teaching colleges, will be established.
'We are opening 16 medical colleges and covering every parliamentary constituency as a unit with teaching colleges coming linked to these colleges so that there is uniformity in all aspects,' said CM Jagan.
Previously, CM Jagan stated that the government has established village clinics in a village with a population of 2000 people in the state, as well as two main health centres with a population of 13,000 people.
