SC transfers Disha Encounter case to Telangana High Court
Delhi, May 20: A Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana on Friday said that the Telangana High Court will decide further proceedings on Disha Encounter case.
The CJI made it clear that apex court cannot monitor the case as they are not aware as to what has happened in the lower court. It is not correct to hear arguments without examining Justice Sirpurkar Commission report, he mentioned. The panel was constituted to probe into allegations of accused in Disha rape-murder case were killed in a fake encounter. Justice Sirpurkar Commission had submitted its report to the SC. V.C. Sajjanar, who was Cyberabad Police Commissioner during the encounter, also present in the top court.
