Beer sales at record levels in Telangana
Beer sales in Telangana have skyrocketed as residents turn to the malt beverage to combat the state's scorching summer weather.
Despite the fact that beer sales increase every summer, the excise department observed a drop in beer sales in the previous two summer seasons in 2020 and 2021 as people avoided drinking cold products for fear of getting the Coronavirus pandemic.
According to excise department records, beer worth Rs 6702 crores was sold out as of March this year, with the rate of beer sales increasing to 90 percent as compared to May last year. The ratio of sales for brandy, whisky, and other alcoholic beverages is also increasing. In terms of beer sales, the Rangareddy district leads the way, followed by Warangal.
