WATCH: Air India pilot makes special announcement as first flight under Tata Group takesoff

With the acquisition of Air India by Tata. on the first day of the flight following Tata's ownership, the Air India Flyers got a special greeting from their captain. Before the aeroplane took off, the captain broadcasted the message.

The statement referred to the trip as historic flight, saying, 'Welcome to this historic journey. The flight was designated as a historic event to commemorate the momentous occasion of Tata's purchase of Air India. The flight symbolises a unique moment, since now Air India becomes a member of the Tata group again after seven decades, the captain added.' The captain also informed the passengers about the renewal of commitment.
