TDP leader Buddha Venkanna arrested

The AP police detained senior TDP politician and former MLC Buddha Venkanna on Monday evening in connection with statements he made against Andhra Pradesh Minister Kodali Nani and Director General of Police Gowtham Sawang. The police raided Venkanna's home under the guise of seeking clarification on his statements concerning the DGP.

Later, he was apprehended by the police. According to sources, the police and government were particularly enraged by Venkanna's bold remarks against the DGP and also minister Kodali Nani, in whose area a casino was recently held during the Sankranthi festivities.

Earlier, Buddha Venkanna announced to the media that he is still standing by his words.
