Live: AP Employees protest against PRC
Employee and teacher union leaders in Andhra Pradesh have failed to negotiate a fair wage deal with the government.
Upset over the government's decision, thousands of teachers and staff wearing black badges resumed their demonstrations at district collectorates, asking that the GOs be withdrawn. They've also shouted, 'CM down down!'
Employees and teachers have abandoned their duties and organised demonstrations at all of the district collectorates, creating a tense scene. Many of the employees were detained by police and taken to police stations. According to sources, the unions that have formed the joint action committee are planning to issue a strike notice to the government on Friday.
