The Health Department has been confronting a daunting task in preventing the spread of coronavirus infections during the three-day Sammakka-Sarakka Jatara, known as the country's largest tribal gathering, which is set to take place from February 16 to 19 in Medaram village in the tribally dominated Mulugu district.

Satyavathi Rathore, Minister of Tribal Welfare, stated that more technology is being being used at the Medaram fair this season. According to the Minister, CM KCR would attend the Medaram fair on February 18. She said that the devotees are believed to get darshan in half an hour without having to wait in long lineups. The minister stated that bio-toilets and regular toilets will be made available. The Minister stated that no money is being received from the Center for the Sammakka Jatara. 'We are requesting the Center on behalf of the state government in all possible ways.' the Minister stated.
