Pilot rescued five seconds before train crashes into plane
Los Angeles police officers were hailed as heroes after rescuing a pilot from a wrecked aircraft just seconds before it was crushed by an approaching train. Officers reacted to the downed plane, which fell into railway lines in the Pacoima neighbourhood on Sunday afternoon, and it was captured in dramatic bodycam and bystander footage. Officers can be seen trying to extract the wounded pilot from the little plane, tugging at wreckage and trying to create way for him. The pilot escaped in the nick of time. A train collided with the plane only five seconds after he is dragged off it, sending debris flying.
