IAF chopper crash: 13 out of 14 on board confirmed dead including Bipin wife

Thirteen of the fourteen personnel on board the chopper carrying Indian Defense Chief General Bipin Rawat were killed when it crashed in southern India on Wednesday. General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, and 11 other people on board the ill-fated IAF helicopter Mi-17V5 that crashed-landed today in Tamil Nadu were killed in the event. The chopper was taking a few senior officials from Sulur near Coimbatore to the Defence Staff College in Wellington, where Gen Rawat and Chief of Army Staff MM Naravane were scheduled to attend an event. According to the IAF, a Court of Inquiry has been ordered into the mishap, which involved a Mi-17VH helicopter that took off from the Sulur IAF Station in adjacent Coimbatore.
