Don't punish farmers: TRS MP's protest at Parliament Gandhi statue

TRS MPs brought Parliament to a halt, forcing both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha to adjourn, as they sought that the Centre resolve the problems of paddy procurement and the Centre's gazette notification taking over irrigation projects on the Godavari and Krishna rivers. They afterwards organised demonstrations near Mahatma Gandhi's statue on Parliament grounds, asking that the Centre reveal the National Farm Produce Policy.K Keshava Rao, a TRS MP, had proposed an adjournment move in the Rajya Sabha on Telangana paddy procurement, but it was denied by the Chairman, prompting TRS MPs to shout slogans.TRS MPs K Keshava Rao, Nama Nageshwara Rao, Banda Prakash, Joginapally Santosh Kumar, KR Suresh Reddy, G Ranjith Reddy, BB Patil, Manne Srinivas Reddy, B Venkatesh Netha, P Ramulu, and others staged protests at the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Parliament grounds after both Houses were adjourned. They held placards calling on the federal government to unveil the National Farm Produce Policy to help farmers and developing states like Telangana.
