India lights up to celebrate 100 crore Covid jabs, Mansukh Mandaviya distributes sweets
On Thursday, India surpassed the 100 crore (1 billion) Covid-19 immunisation record. The achievement came nine months after the national immunisation campaign began. On the occasion, PM Modi paid a visit to Delhi's RML hospital and spoke with medical personnel. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Health, paid a visit to the Covid War Room in Delhi and distributed sweets. To commemorate the anniversary, the union government has scheduled a number of activities. At Red Fort, events included the release of a song and the presentation of the country's biggest tricolour. The Archeological Survey of India (ASI) has also lit all significant monuments. Ropeway rides will be free for individuals who have been properly vaccinated at major ropeways around the country.
