Supreme Court directs CBI to file FIR against Audimulapu Suresh couple
New Delhi: In a setback for Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Audimulapu Suresh, the Supreme Court on Friday directed the CBI to probe disproportionate assets case registered against him and his wife. The apex court dismissed the verdict pronounced by the Telangana High Court and instructed the CBI to register FIR and investigate the case. The three-member bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud said that there is no need to conduct the preliminary investigation again. In 2017, a disproportionate assets case was filed against Vijayalakshmi and her husband Suresh and they approached Telangana High Court citing that the CBI filed FIR without any preliminary investigation.
