Covid-19 impact: Fifth Test between India and England cancelled
Due to an increase of COVID-19 cases in the Indian camp, the fifth test between India and England at Old Trafford in Manchester was called off on Friday, just hours before it was scheduled to begin. The BCCI and the ECB met for two days after head coach Ravi Shastri and his teammates tested positive for COVID-19 during the fourth Test in London. The ECB issued a statement on Friday stating, “Following continuing discussions with the BCCI, the ECB can announce that the fifth Test between England and India Men, scheduled to begin today at Emirates Old Trafford, has been cancelled.” Virat Kohli's side are gearing up for the fifth and final Test of the series. The series is now 2-1 in favour of Team India.
