Taliban seizes Norwegian embassy in Kabul, smashes wine bottles and destroys books
In a significant political step, the Taliban has now seized control of the Norwegian Embassy in Kabul. At the establishments, wine bottles have been shattered and children's books have been trashed. Previously, the Taliban said that they would not meddle with other countries' diplomatic facilities, including embassies. The Taliban are currently establishing an Afghan administration, which will most likely be headed by Hibatullah Akhundzada. Sirajuddin Haqqani, a specifically designated global terrorist, serves as acting interior minister in the Taliban's harsh temporary administration. Denmark and Norway declared last month that they are shutting their embassies in Kabul and withdrawing their personnel as the security situation in Afghanistan deteriorated.
