Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico wins the women’s 100-meter hurdles
Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico has registered her win with a gold medal in the women’s 100-meter hurdles earlier today. She became the second Puerto Rican to ever win gold medal. She has defeated the world-record holder, Kendra Harrison of the United States. The 24-year-old Camacho-Quinn took 12.37 seconds to win comfortably followed by Harrison, who clocked 12.52 seconds to win a silver medal. Jamaica's Megan Tappe has won a Bronze medal clocking 12.55 seconds. Camacho-Quinn has failed to improve on the Olympic record of 12.26 she set in the semi-finals, but she won the first athletics gold in Puerto Rico’s history.
