Australia's Emma McKeon becomes second woman ever to win 7 medals at single Olympics
Emma McKeon of Australia has created a new record by earning two additional gold medals, and becoming the first female swimmer and the second woman in any discipline to win seven medals at the same Olympics. She accomplished the sprint double by winning the 50m freestyle and subsequently gold in the women's 4x100 medley relay. McKeon's career tally of five gold medals, two silver medals, and four bronze medals surpasses that of swimming legend Ian Thorpe (five gold medals, three silver medals, and one bronze). McKeon is the only swimmer to have won seven medals in a single Games, joining Michael Phelps, Mark Spitz, and Matt Biondi.
