MLAs from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) allegedly took issue with the Coimbatore district collector accepting a plea from them while sitting on a chair.
On Thursday, AIADMK MLAs proceeded to hand up a petition to District Collector Sameeran about the continuation of existing projects declared by the previous AIADMK government.
The district collector of Coimbatore sat in his chair and extended his arm to accept the plea. This irritated members of the assembly, including former deputy speaker Pollachi Jayaraman, who said, "You won't get up from your seat?"
District Collector Sameeran stood up instantly, did not respond to the castigating, and immediately calmed the situation.
