YSRCP raises objection in Parliament over Telangana using Krishna water for power generation

YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy on Thursday raised objection in the Lok Sabha over Telangana using Krishna water for generation of hydel power. “Violation of the KRMB protocols by the Telangana government will deprive water for irrigation and drinking needs of Rayalaseema, Nellore and Prakasam districts, and Chennai city,” he stated.

Replying on the issue, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has said that the KRMB had written a letter to the TS-Genco to stop drawing water. He further said that the Centre had issued a gazette notification notifying the jurisdiction of the KRMB and GRMB.
