90-year-old Belgian woman was infected with two coronavirus variants at the same time
In a rare case, a 90-year-old Belgian woman was infected with two different variants of novel coronavirus at the same time. According to the reports, the woman who got infected this March was found carrying two variants both Alpha and Beta which were detected first in the UK and South Africa. It is learnt that she didn't receive at least a single dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. She died five days after being admitted to the hospital. The case was discussed at the annual European Congress on Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
