Centre issues new Covid-19 guidelines for children
New Delhi: The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in the Union Health Ministry has issued comprehensive guidelines for the treatment of Covid-19 in children. Some of them include restricted use of the Remdesivir drug and usage of steroids only to treat asymptomatic and not for mild cases. The DGHS recommended rational use of HRCT imaging (CT scan) and usage of steroids under the supervision of doctors in hospitals. “Steroids should be used at the right time only,” it stated and mentioned that the emergency use of Remdesivir is not recommended for children.
