COVID-19 assistance continues to pour in from abroad
India has been getting support from some of the foreign countries in a battle with covid-19. In the latest, flights from countries like Kazakhstan, United Kingdom and Australia have arrived in the country carrying a consignment of emergency medical supplies to India. India received the first consignment of 5.6 million masks, respirators from Kazakhstan on May 14. On humanitarian assistance, United Kingdom has extended support to India with another shipment consisting of 100 oxygen cylinders. Likewise, Australia has shipped 60 oxygen concentrators and 1056 ventilators to help India fight against the pandemic. New York Mayor Bill De Blasio said they would send essential medical supplies to India soon. Earlier, in the last month, the US had shipped medical supplies consisting of 423 oxygen cylinders, 210 pulse oximeters and 84,000 N-95 face masks to help India fight the pandemic.
