DRDO will set up 500 medical oxygen plants within three months: Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in a tweet said that the DRDO will set up 500 medical oxygen plants across the country within three months under PM CARES Fund. “The Medical Oxygen Plant (MOP) technology developed by DRDO for on‐board oxygen generation on the LCA and Tejas will help in fighting the current crisis of oxygen for the Covid-19 patients,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the DRDO in a press statement said that transfer of MOP technology to two private companies has already initiated. Once the technology is transferred, Tata Advanced Systems has to produce 332 oxygen plants and Trident Pneumatics 48. The DRDO holding talks with the Dehradun-based Indian Institute of Petroleum to produce another 120 oxygen plants.
