EC issue notice to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee

WEST BENGAL: The Election Commission issued notices to West Bengal Chief Minister, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee over her statement in which she urged Muslim voters to not spot split their vote in the assembly elections.
The EC issued notices to Mamata Banerjee after her statements on 3rd April during an election campaign and asking Muslim voters not to split their votes among different political parties and reportedly demanded votes on communal grounds. After receiving a complaint from BJP leaders, the election commission asked Mamata Banerjee to give her explanation within 48 hours.
