Deepika Padukone’s Levi’s advertisement caught in plagiarism row
The Levi's ad featuring actress Deepika Padukone and entering a studio and dancing to the tunes of Auva Auva from the 1982 film Disco Dancer, has turned controversal. Sooni Taraporevala, director of 'Yeh Ballet' has alleged that this is not homage and it is intellectual theft. The filmmaker took to Instagram to raise his protest and called out the makers of the ad film alleging that they violated the copy rights principles. To defend his claim, Taraporevala in her Instagram post, shared pictures from her own set design alongside screenshots of the Levi's ad.
