AP govt rejects SEC Nimmagadda’s proceedings against IAS officials

The AP government on Wednesday rejected State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar’s proceedings issued against Panchayat Raj Principal Secretary Gopal Krishna Dwivedi and Commissioner M Girija Shankar. The proceedings were sent back to the State Election Commission. Chief Secretary Aditya Nath Das in a letter to the SEC said that proceedings cannot be issued without taking an explanation from the IAS officers. He also pointed out that the SEC has no powers to issue proceedings against the IAS officials. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, AP government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy faulted the SEC for using objectionable language in the proceedings.
