APGEF leaders to meet CS for seeking exemption to women, ailing staff from panchayat poll duties

Andhra Pradesh Government Employees’ Federation (APGEF) chairman K Venkatram Reddy said on Tuesday that the APGEF leaders would meet Chief Secretary Aditya Nath Das and request him to exempt ailing staff and women aged above 50 from the panchayat poll duties. Speaking to the media, Venkatram stated that State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar had dragged government employees into controversy. “I responded only after Nimmagadda Ramesh spoke against government employees,” he mentioned. The APGEF chief slammed political leaders for criticising the government employees’ stand regarding panchayat elections. Other leaders of the APGEF were also present.
