Minister Peddireddi meets CM Jagan to discuss SC verdict on panchayat polls

After the Supreme Court dismissed the petition filed by the AP government opposing panchayat elections, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy met Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to discuss the future course of action. The AP government will arrive at a decision by Monday evening as to whether to cooperate with the State Election Commission in holding elections or explore any other route in the wake of government employees raising objections to take part in the election process fearing coronavirus. Meanwhile, the SEC rescheduled the dates of the panchayat elections.
