SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh, employees’ unions seek appointment with Governor
The stalemate is continuing over the conduct of panchayats elections in Andhra Pradesh even after notification was issued by the State Election Commission. The AP government and various employees’ unions have filed petitions in the Supreme Court opposing panchayat polls in February. Now, all eyes are on Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan’s move on panchayat elections. Meanwhile, State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar and leaders of employees’ unions have sought appointments with the Governor to tell the reasons for holding and opposing panchayat elections respectively. However, appointments with the Governor were not finalised.
