Bar councils of five states demand Supreme Court bench in South India

In a webinar held by the Telangana state bar council, a demand of setting up a Supreme Court bench in south India was unanimously agreed by bar councils of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. The bar councils of southern states have urged their respective legislative assemblies and councils to pass resolutions. A decision was taken in the webinar to meet President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Justice of India SA Bobde, and Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and hand over memoranda to them.
