Supreme Court accepts AP govt’s petition on panchayat polls, hearing on Monday
The Supreme Court accepted the AP government’s special leave petition on Friday which filed opposing the conduct of panchayat polls in February. The High Court had struck down the single judge’s verdict suspending the schedule for panchayat elections. There was a delay in submitting the petition to the Supreme Court registry because of errors in the application. The lawyer representing the AP government has urged the Supreme Court to hear the petition on a priority basis. The AP government’s petition will come up for hearing in the Supreme Court on Monday.
