The Supreme Court registry on Friday rejected the Andhra Pradesh government’s petition challenging the High Court’s verdict on panchayat polls. The reason for refusing to accept the application was some errors in the petition. The petition was submitted to the Supreme Court registry after making corrections. It did not come up for hearing on Friday as submission of plea got delayed. The Supreme Court will hear the petition on Monday. Meanwhile, the State Election Commission will release the notification on Saturday for holding elections to panchayats in four phases in February.
