SEC meets Guv, urges him to direct AP govt to extend cooperation for holding panchayat polls

State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar met Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan on Friday and urged him to direct the Andhra Pradesh government for extending cooperation in holding panchayat elections. He also submitted a report to the Governor alleging a few officials are working in favour of the ruling YSRCP government. In the 20-minute meeting, he also explained to Harichandan about the AP High Court giving nod for conducting panchayat elections in four phases in February. The SEC informed the Governor that notification for panchayat elections would be released on Saturday.
