After the division Bench of Andhra Pradesh High Court cleared the decks for panchayat polls in the state, the AP govt has filed a petition in Supreme Court against the HC verdict on panchayat elections. In its petition, the Andhra Pradesh government has stated that it is not possible to conduct the local body polls this time when the vaccination process is going on under the supervision of the government officials. The state employees union also raised objections for the elections as they are not ready in the coronavirus vaccination program's wake. It is to be seen how the Supreme Court will deal with the petition filed by the Jagan Mohan Reddy's government.
