Hosting bull races in Gudivada for the last 20 years: Kodali Nani

Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Nani said on Thursday that bull races are being conducted in Gudivada for the last 20 years on the occasion of the Sankranti festival. He stated that the Sankranti is a harvest festival and it is closely associated with farmers. To a question, the minister mentioned that over 100 pairs of bulls from Rayalaseema, Krishna, Guntur, and Prakasam districts have participated in the contest. Kodali Nani said that the purpose of holding bull races is to protect the Ongole bulls and to create awareness about the sacredness of cows.
