DCGI Commitee to approve Oxford COVID-19 vaccine 'Covishield'

NEW DELHI: The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation's Subject Expert Committee (SEC) will hold a meeting on Friday i.e, on today to decide whether to approve the coronavirus vaccine 'Covishield' developed by the Serum Institute of India (SII) and AstraZeneca-Oxford University or not. As per reports, the committee will permit the Covishield vaccine for emergency use in India.
Committee will make the final decision on the coronavirus vaccine for emergency use. It is learnt that Pfizer asked more time to present their data about the vaccine. The centre is getting ready to administer COVID-19 vaccine to every citizen in India. The dry run will start on 2nd January.
