AP HC directs Home Secretary, DGP & IG to appear personally in defamation case

The AP High Court (HC) issued notices to Home Secretary Kumar Vishwajeet, DGP Gautam Sawang, and Inspector-General of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha to appear personally in the HC in a defamation case filed by CI Rama Rao and adjourned the hearing to January 25.
The High Court directed the Police Department to include Rama Rao in the CIs promotion list. Rama Rao filed a defamation petition in the High Court against the Home Secretary, DGP, and IG for not implementing its orders. Either the lawyers on behalf of IPS officials or they themselves did not respond to the HC notices served to them.
