BJP is in favour of retaining Amaravati as AP capital: Somu Veerraju
AP BJP president Somu Veerraju on Thursday said that his party will exert pressure on the AP government to continue capital in Amaravati. Speaking to the media in Guntur after garlanding the statue of BR Ambedkar, Veerraju stated that the BJP is in favour of Amaravati as the state’s capital. Opposition leader and TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu is fighting to retain Amaravati as the AP capital because he failed to construct permanent buildings with the funds provided by the Central government, he mentioned. The BJP chief said that the media should question Chandrababu regarding Rs 7,200 crores received by the previous TDP government from the Centre for capital construction.
