UK PM Boris Johnson confuses farmers’ protest with India-Pakistan dispute

In a major gaffe, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson seemed to have been confused between the ongoing farmers’ protest against new farm laws in India and the India-Pakistan dispute. Responding to a question on the ongoing farmers’ stir in India, the British PM said that the UK government’s stance on the dispute between India and Pakistan is a bilateral one.
Later, when clarification was sought, a UK government spokesperson said that the Prime Minister had misheard the question and that the Foreign Office is closely following the protests in India.
