Congress not likely to contest in Nagarjunasagar byelection

The Congress may not field its candidate in the byelection to the Nagarjunasagar Assembly constituency, said Congress leader Belliah Naik on Saturday in a debate. Respecting the decision of senior party leader and former minister Jana Reddy, Naik mentioned that the Congress will not contest in the Nagarjunasagar seat which fell vacant with the death of TRS MLA Nomula Narasimhaiah due to illness. However, the BJP wants to field Jana Reddy’s son Raghuveer Reddy in the Nagarjunasagar byelection. The saffron party wants to attract even Jana Reddy by promising a key post at the national level.
