Telangana HC rejects SEC’s appeal seeking vote counting in Neredmet division
05-12-2020 Sat 13:42
The Telangana High Court on Saturday rejected the plea of the State Election Commission (SEC) seeking the counting of votes in the Neredmet division. Counting of votes in Neredmet was stayed as votes with marks other than the standard Swastik symbol were in majority. Refusing to quash the single judge’s interim order, the SEC was advised to approach the High Court after the verdict was pronounced by the single judge. Clarity on the counting of votes in the Neredmet ward is expected on Monday. The High Court opined that lack of proper training to staff was responsible for stopping vote counting.
