YSRCP likely to boycott SEC’s all-party meet on local body polls
The State Election Commission (SEC) has convened an all-party meeting on Wednesday to know the views of recognised political parties for conducting elections to local bodies. However, the AP government is against conducting local body elections because of the coronavirus pandemic. Reportedly, a meeting was chaired by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday and discussed issuing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to be followed in the state to avoid the risk of covid spread. The meeting was seen as a move to oppose local body polls. Meanwhile, the YSRCP is likely to boycott the all-party meeting convened by the SEC.
