A family court orders wife to pay monthly allowance to husband
In a first of its kind, a family court in UP has ordered a woman to pay maintenance allowance to a husband with no regular income. He does not have a permanent source of income. According to the reports, both wife and husband have been living separately for the last ten years. Kishori Lal Sohankar has been surviving by running a tea stall in Khatauli town of Muzaffarnagar and his former wife, Munni Devi, who worked in the Indian Army of Kanpur division, has been getting Rs 12,000 as a pension. She was recently retired from the Army in the position of the fourth-grade employee. A petition was filed by the estranged husband nine years ago at a family court in Muzaffarnagar. The court has finalized the case after giving the verdict.
